This limited edition CD reissues a 1955 compilation commemorating Charlie Parker’s death that year. It is the third from the “Savoy Jazz 20 Bit Master Transfer Collection”, a series which utilizes Denon’s 20-bit digital remastering console which they refer to as the Mastersonic.
The original material was remastered for vinyl (MG-12009) in 1955 by Rudy Van Gelder and subsequently re-remastered for compact disc (CY-78984) in 1994 by Yujiro Kasasi of Nippon Columbia records, the current owner of the Savoy Jazz label.
